Le grand chef magnificent at bar amour, Halaigh Whelan-McManus, serves artwork on a plate. He is a world star, for real, in terms of cooking. With background as chef at Noma, and head chef at Maemo. And now he is here.
And a wonderful dinner is served: Something as simple as a salad sandwich, served with a mussel-emulsion … And then a generous drizzle of parmesan to marry the flavors. What else? Roasted leek on a soft bed of cod roe, scattered with shredded, dried tuna … And finally: a schnitzel, rich and tasty and fatty ….

Jonas and Halaigh cook their food on two portable induction hobs in the small bar. They want it intimate and homely. And when a dish becomes popular, they remove it from the menu.
– Thank you for bringing me here, Johanna, Ina says.
– Imagine how cheated I would have felt drinking a boring barbera and the same pizza I always eat on the floor below, and then someone tells me that you get food from the earlier maaemo chef upstairs, at almost the same price!
I laugh and cheers with her.
At midnight we go home and shed a few tears over the beautiful sorrows that exists in what we call life.
